Most mornings, my day starts litter picking the Palm Beach canals and Tallebudgera Creek in my kayak.

I not only litter-pick myself, but I write about it too. I’m a children’s book author educating kids about plastic pollution in the environment. ‘The Rubbish Rebellion’ book series.

The rubbish I collect consists of plastic bags, food wrappers, bottles, styrofoam, balls, rope, and fishing line. Every picture tells a story, and litter picking can also be fun, so follow me on Instagram to see my daily litter pics.

Removing rubbish from the waterways leaves me satisfied with easing this threat and harming our marine life. Ocean conservation is my passion, and misplaced garbage is pollution, which impacts mammals, wildlife, and human health. We must all contribute and preserve our most precious aquatic ecosystems, and plastic pollution has become a global issue. Every little litter pick helps, even if it’s one piece a day!  Doing this will reward you with the knowledge that you are helping our planet for future generations to enjoy. Since December 2018, I have collected over 400 dog balls, which I clean and re-home to the animal shelter.

More balls for 2020

Cheers
